Blankenheim

The children from daycare center Bermaringen were busy collecting green footprints. They sent us the following report:

Finally we can start to collect green footprints!
On Monday, 20 April 2015 the polar bear mother explained to her small polar bear child “Lenni” why its ice floe had broken off: The earth is running a temperature.
But there’s rescue on the way: There are great children in a very special town! There, the children convince their parents, grand parents… that they won’t be brought to and collected from kindergarten by car. The cars make our earth sick.

The children of kindergarten Bermaringen were highly motivated that they promised to the polar bear child that in the future (not only for these two weeks), they will go to kindergarten as many times as possible by foot, bike, scooter, skate board and roller blades, but not by car.

These green footprints will be handed over at the Climate Conference in Paris in November and hoping that politicians will finally do something, too”. (Quote: child, 6 years from preschool.

“I wish this for the future of our earth.”

Thanks to our local representative for her spontaneous promise to welcome us!
Team of daycare center Bermaringen.

On 19 May 2015 Ms Mayer will receive the green footprints from our “Schlaumäusen” in the town hall and will carry them to Blaustein. The handmade footprints on which the children drew things, will be handed over in a treasure chest.

Many thanks to the children of the environmental working group of primary school Bermaringen who supported us in collecting green footprints.

Bonn

The children of the school “GGS Ennertschule” motivated their parents to leave the car during the action week.

Due to that, one or the other way was done by foot, scooter or bike. For each collected way the children stamped a thumb print.

With 738 ways the class 4c outreached all the other classes and a total of 4,510 was collected.

All pupils were highly motivated. In that week they tinkered feet and wrote requests on these for the car drivers. They put these feet behind the windshield wipers.
The class 3 examined different ways to school and the children interviewed their parents about their ways to school in earlier days.

Some of the children walked different ways to school.

At the end of the action everybody was excited how long the chain of ways made out of thumb prints have become. The length was impressive and brought a big applause together with a certificate.

Currently, the school “Ennertschule “ is building up a walking bus in order to facilitate the walk to school for the pupils.

In the school “Petrischule Höxter“ the children of the 2nd grade participated in the” Kids on the Move campaign”. During one week, they wrote down the climate friendly ways they used on the timetable. Löhne

1,235 children from Löhne are sending 10,759 green footprints to Paris.
They have a simple message:
“Climate Protection is often very easy – you simply have to do it!"

For the 14th time the primary school pupils from Löhne are a good example for their parents: Instead of going to school by mom or dad taxi, they prefer to go to school on their own by foot or bike.

In only 5 days they saved more than 10,759 car rides.

During the 9th Climate Protection Day of Löhne in September 2015, the old mayor Heinz-Dieter Held thanked the children for that.

On 3 December, the birthday of Löhnchen, Climate Alliance Löhne will hand over the well-deserved certificates to the children. And as a thank you everybody will receive a reflector with the inscription: “Walk to school – good for the climate!”

Lotte

“Chuckle alarm” at the childrens daycare center Alt-Lotter Kinderland. The soles of foot of the children were painted green. And this tickles! After that, the little ones walked over two lengths of wallpaper. Their footprints are symbolizing the numerous “green footprints” which they have been walking during the campaign week. Not only the children of Kinderland have left green prints on the wallpapers, they also have collected many “green footprints” points, as they were on the move by foot, scooter, bike and bus instead of by car.

by car, went to kindergarten by bike for the whole week.

Us, the kindergarten teachers, learned more about climate protection with help of

the modules and passed that on to the children in a playful manner.
