This year, 43 primary schools with 14,900 pupils attended the “Walk to School Day” in Hamburg.
Furthermore, the children had documented for three weeks how they got to school in their “Way to School Passport”.

From 22nd September to 10th October 2014, school „Müssenredder had also participated in the famous action “Way to School Passport”! For each day the children had gone to school by foot or by bicycle/scooter/bus, they received a stamp and additionally the famous “foot cookies” at the end.

 

Their action report said:


The climate scientists put up three parents stop signs so that the parents can drop off their children further away from school. They also made promotion with little posters, they came up with slogans and for that they made posters.
During the action week, we managed to reduce the quantity of children which were brought to school by their parents by car by 33%. So it was worth it again that all made an effort together!


Class 4b, together with their teachers, performed the selfmade “way to school rap” (pdf, 100kb), which was part of the project “Walking to school”.


According to the theme “Healthy and fit to school” again, there was the popular climate breakfast for the 6 new classes. Additionally, there was built up the movement course to train safety, reaction and concentration on the way to school.
