Belarus

This year, 7 Belarusian cities decided to join the ZOOM community. Some of them started collecting Green Footprints early in June, during the European Sustainable Energy Week, others are still in the process.

 

So far, altogether 304 children, from 5 to 12 years old participated in the ZOOM action and collected a total of 7,045 Green Footprints.

 

Apart from collecting Green Footprints, the kids had creative workshops and discussions about their favorite type of public transport, advantages of walking and biking, and other mobility issues.



Baranovichi

 

Two schools in Baranovichi took part in the ZOOM campaign. 21 children collected Green Footprints and were able to adopt environmentally friendly behaviour on a daily basis. In total, they collected 77 Green Footprints. 



Braslav

 

In the north of Belarus, on the border with Latvia, children from the city of Braslav took part in the ZOOM campaign.
For one week, from 23 to 29 September, the 46 pupils diligently collected Green Footprints. They collected a total of 452 climate-friendly Footprints - congratulations!










Novogrudok

 

In the city of Nawahradak in western Belarus children have collected from 14 to 21 October miles for a better climate. 53 pupils from school No.7 came to the school on foot, by bicycle or by bus.

During the action week, the children also made a study of which means of transport they prefer to use and what advantages they have.

The children in Nawahradak prefer to walk shorter distances because:

- you can then observe nature
- you can talk to friends and parents
- you can meet animals
- it has a positive effect on health and stress levels

They have also collected ideas and suggestions for a more sustainable future:

- more cycle paths
- plant more trees and green areas in the city
- fewer pesticides
- more electric cars
- better recycling and waste system

The children also collected Green Footprints in their free time on the way to sports or music lessons. They reached a total number of 1,495 Green Footprints!  








Novopolotsk

 

At school no.4 the children also took part in the ZOOM campaign. From 16 to 22 September, they collected Green Footprints and the result is impressive: the 59 pupils reached a total of 2,478 Green Footprints! With this number of Footprints, they could theoretically make a climate-friendly trip to Piacenza and visit the committed climate protectors in Italy there. Congratulations on the great result!





Orsha

 

The children of school no.16 in Orsha, near the Russian border, were active for the climate in October and collected Green Footprints!

They have always made their way back/to school in a climate-friendly way, on foot, by bicycle, scooter or bus. So the 51 pupils were able to collect 1,377 Green Footprints - congratulations! 








Oshmiany

 

In kindergarten no.3 four children took part in the ZOOM campagne. The little climate protectors stuck a photo of their faces on green figures and showed their ways to school on a poster. The four boys together collected 14 Green Miles - we congratulate the children in Oshmiany on the result and the great pioneering function! 







Pinsk

 

The pupils of School No.3 were very committed this year and paid attention to climate-friendly mobility on their way to school for three weeks. During this time, 90 children have made a strong commitment to the climate and you can see that:

They were able to collect 1,161 Green Footprints. With this number of Green Footprints you could travel as far as Frankfurt am Main and visit our ZOOM Team in the office!
