Energy Region Hümmling
The energy region Hümmling is an association of the joint municipalities Lathen, Nordhümmling, Sögel and Werlte in the context of climate protection. 18 elementary schools of the 4 joint municipalities collected a total of 28,319 miles this year with over 2,150 students! They documented their collection results on colorful posters and expressed their wishes for climate policy.

Osnabrück
As is well known, the focus of ZOOM kids on the move is on the topic of mobility and the collection of environmentally friendly "Green Miles". This year, the participating children in Osnabrück covered 6,627 environmentally friendly distances! In addition, they shopped or ate in a climate-friendly way 464 times and consciously saved energy 173 times. Despite the turbulent Corona year, the children took part in this campaign and made a great contribution to protecting the climate on our planet. Now the children are calling on the politicians in Osnabrück, in Germany and in Europe to also be active and to act quickly!
Climate action region: Papenburg - Dörpen - Rhede
This year, Heede Elementary School participated. In all five classes of the elementary school, the children contributed to the project and a total of 1136 green miles were collected. Instead of just talking about climate change, the students were active themselves and made their contribution to climate protection with their climate-friendly routes to school. The elementary school in Heede participated in the campaign for a second time. The 105 children did not just stop at collecting "green miles". Both first and third grade children filmed a video on climate action. While the first graders promoted the campaign with statements such as "Riding a scooter is fun and I'll get to school faster" or "Cars produce exhaust fumes and are also pretty loud and dangerous," the third graders studied the greenhouse effect in a project group and created an explanatory video on the topic.
The climate protection manager of the city of Papenburg is pleased with the result and is certainly excited about the next edition:
"I'm already looking forward to organizing the campaign next year, then hopefully without the Corona restrictions."
Wolfsburg
Despite this extraordinary year, institutions in Wolfsburg were once again involved in the climate protection campaign - albeit significantly fewer than usual. A proud 2,864 Green Miles were collected by 141 students from 5 classes at the Ratsgymnasium Wolfsburg during a climate action week!
