Allensbach

In beautiful Allensbach by Lake Constance, 394 children in 9 institutions collected 5,807 Green Footprints this year and ceremoniously handed over the total sum on posters to Mayor Stefan Friedrich and the local council.

Brigitte Bautze, the coordinator there, gives us insights into the Kids on the Move for Climate Action campaign and the associated actions from Allensbach:

"The children learned a lot about CO2 avoidance. Of course, what they learned also spilled back into their parents' homes and some children asked at home exactly where the vegetables came from, told them that there is also a weekly market, said that the clothes dryer consumes electricity and that laundry dries just as well outdoors, and one kindergarten group decided that it is not necessary to turn on the light in the group room when it is bright outside. - From then on, the children probably sat in the slightly dim room even when they thought there was still enough daylight. Another child (to the delight of his parents) developed the ambition to finally ride a bike himself, so that he could actually collect his own points."

We are pleased that Allensbach would like to participate again next year.

Backnang

The evangelical kindergarten in Steinbach participated this year with 45 children and collected 464 Green Footprints during their 'forest week' in June. They sent us a brief report on their activities and many "climate footprints" on which the children expressed their wishes to the adults.

The team shared with us:
"We had a lot of fun during the campaign and are proud to be part of this Green Footprints collection. As the saying goes: Many little people in many little places can change the face of the world."

Rems-Murr District

This year, 29 schools participated in the campaign in Rems-Murr district. Notably, Kindergarten Lange Äcker gathered a total of 840 footprints from 60 children between June 12 and June 16, 2023. The engagement extended to Grundschule Geradstetten, where 3,581 footprints were collected from 225 students between May 19 and May 25, 2023. Other participants, such as Kindergarten Schwalbenweg, Wurzelino Natur- und Waldkindergarten, Schillerschule Oeffingen, Hofgarten-Grundschule, Kinderhaus Im Sämann, Naturkita Etzwiese, Kita Baumhaus im Ameisenbühl, Städt. Kita Robert-Kaess-Siedlung, Grunschule Beinstein, and more, contributed to a grand total of 27,552 footprints. These collective efforts exemplify a commendable commitment to environmental consciousness, and the organizers express gratitude for their contribution to this year's campaign!

Schopfheim

At Fahrnau Elementary School, 240 children in 8 classes participated in the campaign for the third time. The students have collected a total of 2719 footprints!

Wolfschlugen

During the car-free week in Wolfschlugen, held from September 18 to October 13, 2023, several institutions actively participated in the initiative to reduce carbon footprints. The Grundschule Wolfschlugen contributed significantly with 5220 footprints, indicating a collective effort towards sustainable transportation methods. Additionally, the Kinderkrippe Zwergenhaus, Kita Wichtelhaus, Kiga Spatzenhaus, Evang. Kindergarten, Kiga Naturwölfle, and Kita Beethovenstraße actively engaged, collectively accumulating 7992 footprints. Alongside the footprints, various stickers were earned, emphasizing the importance of regional food consumption and energy-saving practices. This joint endeavor showcases the community's commitment to environmental consciousness and fostering eco-friendly habits among its members.
