Formigine

 

The Bimbibus in Formigine  also operated in the school year 2023/2024. There were 4 active lines walking from Monday to Friday.

So in 2024 the bus are running for a total of 161 days:

- From the beginning of January to June (excluding Easter week): 102 days
- from September to December: 59 days

The 71 students who walk to the Carducci, Ferrari and Palmieri schools with the green bimbibus and to the Palmieri school with the red bimbibus, accompanied by 28 volunteers, thus collect a total of 17,147 green footprints with their everyday car-free healthy, safe, fun and sustainable way to start the day - thank you for this sustainable commitment!

 

Bimbibus is a free educational project, which was born 15 years ago. It is aimed at children attending primary schools in the Municipality of Formigine and involves volunteers and families. The registered children are accompanied to school, on foot, by two or more volunteers.  Each child and each volunteer has a high visibility bib and a personalized identification tag with the Bimbibus logo and their name, provided by the Municipality.

Each Bimbibus is different, to adapt to the needs of children, parents and the area; the lines and stops are therefore updated annually in order to improve organisation, taking into account registrations, the structure of school timetables and the available volunteer staff.
The four activated lines travel a distance from 700 to 1300 metres, one to the Carducci school in Formigine, one to the Ferrari school in Formigine and two to the Palmieri school in Magreta (red line and green line).



Padova


In Padova there were 18 schools, 120 classes, and 2,444 children involved into the  Miglia Verdi action from 2024. Collectively they accumulated the least* 50,000 environmental footprints for the Green Footprint campaign - thanks a lot for this effort!

Piacenza

 

During the school year 2023-24 the kids in Piacenza collected 29.518 symbolic green footprints with differnt kinds of good actions (15 primary schools with 1778 pupils in 85 classes).

 

The "drivers" of the 9 pedibus line brought 152 children home to school at 150 days this year, this is about 22.800 Miglia Verdi on total.

 

The municipality also coordinated a 2 km walk with 3.375 children and their families that also adds one Green Footprint for each participant.

 

And then they organized five bike tours on the banks of the river Po for a grand total of another 3.343 Miglia Verdi.
