Gréng Meilen 2026

In Luxembourg, where the campaign is coordinated by Klima-Bündnis Lëtzebuerg, the schools usually participate just every second year, so we didn't suggest to have activities there in 2026.

So this year "only" the school “Am Sand” in the municipality of Niederanven took part.

For three weeks, the children came to school by Pedibus (walking bus) or by the regular school bus. Together they collected 2,959 Gréng Meilen on their way.“Vill gréng Meile fänken an dobäi un d’Klima denken!”Luxembourg’s motto for the campaign: “Collect lots of green miles and think of the climate while doing so!”

In perfect line with the Luxembourgish slogan for the Grenn Footprints Campaign “Vill gréng Meile fänken an dobäi un d’Klima denken!” (Collect lots of Green Footprints and think about the climate while you’re at it!), for three weeks the children there traveled to school every day either by pedibus /on their own feet, or took the regular school bus.

Together, they collected 2,959 “Gréng Meile” on their commutes.
