As part of European Mobility Week, held from September 16 to 22, 2026, the Pankratius Elementary School in the town of Anröchte participated in the climate campaign “Little Climate Protectors on the Move.” The students collected 4,316 stickers: 3,911 green ones for eco-friendly transportation, 239 red ones for regional food, and 166 blue ones for saving energy.
Many thanks to all the children and Pankratius Elementary School for their great efforts!
At Burg Hackenbroich School in Dormagen, there was a lot of counting going on during “Kindermeilen” Week: 2,359 Green Miles for climate-friendly travel, 1,013 Red Miles for regional food, and 891 Blue Miles for conscious energy conservation. Together, that adds up to an impressive 4,263 miles!
The miles weren’t just collected on the way to school. In first grade, students did an “apple check” as part of their social studies class, and in math class, they tallied up the stickers using tally marks and teamwork.
The “chocolate trip” to Burg School was also part of the week. The Fairtrade school team personally received the fair-trade chocolate.
Thanks to the children and the faculty for the many photos and the great week!
We’re looking forward to next year!
Five daycare centers and two elementary schools took part in the “Kindermeilen” campaign and collected a total of 9,091 Green Miles. On top of that, they collected 870 Blue Miles and 989 Red Miles.
These photos give you a glimpse of everything the schools and daycare centers were able to accomplish during the campaign week!
Thank you to all the climate protectors, young and old! See you next year!
